Sergeant Joseph Sustek has been in law enforcement for 28 years. He started his career with
the Enterprise, AL Police Department in 1996 where he served as a patrol officer until 1998
when he joined the Clarksville, TN Police Department. While with Clarksville he served as a
Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and a Crisis Negotiator. Sergeant Sustek joined the Tampa
Police Department in 2004 where his assignments included patrol and the TPD DUI Unit. In his
9 th year he was promoted to Police Detective where he served in the District Level
Investigations Unit, Special Victim’s Unit, Internal Affairs, Cold Case Investigations, and Quality
Assurance. In September 0f 2023 he was promoted so Sergeant and assigned back to patrol
until February 2024 where started in his current assignment as the Sergeant of the Special
Victim’s Unit.
